HELP! HELP picking an older Volvo!

You are going to get many different opinions-I myself would go for the 240-assuming the condition and price warrants it-that is because I am partial to 240s'-those who are partial to 700s' may say the same about the 700s'-overall condition is definetly a factor--the mileage is a factor-how YOU like the feel-fit and style is a factor. I tend to stay away from turbos because of the added maintenance a turbo requires--a turbo does give added power--if you want or need that power. The interior is a factor--do you prefer vinyl--leather--cloth? All the 4 cylinder series have pretty much the same engine--the 740s may have some "options" you may like that the 240 does not have. This is all just my one opinion-a good mechanics check and a good price hopefully will validate how YOU feel about any one of them. Final opinion and advice--pick out maybe one YOU like--have it checked out-and go for the gusto! Oh-the 131 k on the 240 sounds good--might want to do a VIN check to be sure it hasn't been "rolled back"--you can get a VIN check for ONE dollar by emailing this guy you will find at http://www.craigslist.org/--type in "carfax" at the auto forum search there-he has an ad for it-couple people do I think . Good luck.
