Factory stereo kaput 200

Hi, all,

I've seen several posts to the effect of, don't bother trying to fix your CR-712 stereo head unit if it quits.

But mine isn't a 712. I have a 1992 wagon with a TD-613.

Now my cassette has quit. I think it's a mechanical problem, not electrical--the radio works fine. Is this unit any better, compared to reasonably priced aftermarket units--is it worth trying to fix? Is the cassette mechanism fixable?

(I know, CD is the dream of all mankind--but the cassette/radio in the dash is already mine, and it fits perfectly.)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Doug Harvey
