Radiator for a 142 and should I buy a 74 145 and does anyone have a booster O ring 140-160

HI all,

This is new to me but I've already gotten great info from this site so here goes.

* I have a leak in my radiator right at the upper radiator hose spot around the outlet to the thermostat. Should be an easy fix but I was wondering if I could put a later radiator in from a 240? Looks the same to me and it would be cheaper and an improvement as I see it. Will this work? The leak seems to be driving my idle up as well, i think or it's in combo with my bosster problem. It seems to idle at it's proper speed when cold owing to, as I think about it, the thermostat having yet to open and the leak having no effect until it opens.

*I have available to me a one family owned yellow with brwon vinyl interior 1974 145e with an automatic. Needs a distributor, supposedly, that's what the mechanic at the dealership said to the owners of the car. They take it to the dealership to have it worked on and in the process pay through the nose! It's been a daily driver for it's life but has been well maintained, has no rust, the paint is perfect and looks shiny still. Is it worth it? I'm not too interested in learning about k-jetronic while still trying to figure out d-jet for my 142. I think parts for the 74 may be scarce. Any insight would be great!

*Lastly, I've got a leak in my brake booster that raise the idle of my car and when I dpress the brake pedal it goes away. I've read that this is caused by a brake booster o-ring needing replacement. Is this true? Does anyone have one that they will sell to me? I just replaced my master cylinder and saw no O-ring. Is it at the junction where the booster meets the firewall or where the booster bracket meets the back of the booster? Or is it located at the hose on the top of the booster? I have the 3 3/16" spacing between mounting holes on booster/master cylinder mating points. Thanks and I know it's a lot of stuff. Thanks a whole lot!
