Is it to late to change to synthetic oil????? 900

Switching to synthetic oil at 100,000 miles is not an issue. Even a 960.

Not sure where your mechanic is coming from. But 60K on a Volvo is just warming up.

If your car leaks oil when you switch - I gaurantee you already had a leak and didn't know it. Contrary to popular opinion, synthetic oil is much better for seals/gaskets and seal wear. If your car already had a leak - it will leak faster because synthetics do flow better - that's why people think wrongly....

You should do an engine flush first though. Let me know if you want details.
