R/R Control Arm Bushings 200

Hi BB'ers
I removed the control arms and had the local machine shop press new front and rear bushings in. I am trying to put it back and run into this problem: the interference indentation on the front and rear of the new front bushings refuse to enter the large slot where it is supposed to be bolted on using the long bolt and nut.
How have you persuaded it to fit in? Hammer? filing the interference indentation? other creative tips?
