83 idle problems 200

Hey all, Never can remember my password so i'm an outsider. My 83 lh fuel injection is giving me problems again. The car will start well and run for about 5 seconds before it goes into this really lopy idle. It seems that cylnder # 2 is not firing but for no reanson. The plugs caps and wires are all less than 10,000 mi. I changed the injector but it still exibits the same lope. I live in Mass and it's cold now. Once the motor warms up a bit the problem goes away. I have had a similar lope when my fuel injection relay was going bad but the motor runs well at higher RPM> Also when its sputtering along it will shoot a little white smoke from the auxillary air valve area of the motor. I don't think it's a problem with the fuel pressure or it would die out when the motor required more fuel. It almost seems that the advance on the distributer is stuck.has anyone had this happen>? any suggestions would be great. The frequency valve seems to be working too. Thanks in advance to the brickboard and all that can offer advice. john pappanikou
