rear tailpipe 700 1989

The tailpipe is a separate item. If the rest of your exhaust system is in good shape, just get a tailpipe from ipd, Groton, or somewhere similar. This assumes your muffler is intake, including the short pipe the tailpipe fits onto. Unfortunately, I have never heard of a tailpipe just falling off -- usually they are a bear to get off even if you want them off(i.e. rust, etc.). More likely, the short pipe that your tailpipe fits onto has just rusted out of the muffler and the whole thing is gone. In that case, you would need a muffler as well, and probably a complete exhaust system from the cat back. If you look at the muffler where the tailpipe attaches, and all you see is the flat end of the muffler with no protruding pipe, then it is probably muffler shop time.
