Pertronix/Coil mod 120-130

I know I'm getting to this a bit late but I just installed this on a 1966 P220 and it worked out pretty well using some of IPD's info and my own setup. Since an ignition draws a lot of current I didn't want to bog down the fuse box with
connecting there for ignition power. It is a good place to pick up a switched power connection, however. So, what I did was to use a standard 30 amp Hella relay which is switched on by the switched power. The load power for the ignition is provided direct from the battery. The switched power does lose power under cranking so I used the IPD diode circuit from the starter to the
lead on the relay that goes to the red wire on the Pertronix. This gives cranking power then 'on' power direct from the battery. The car runs great set up this way. Also the 'kit' from Pertronix I used is number 1844 and if fit in the iron distributor with no problem. I had two kits and they both fit in the distributor just fine. Both had the same Pertronix number which was 1844. Hope this helps you folks.
