washer fluid warning light 700 1985

Good morning all. I will introduce myself. I am a full time student in Canada and have just recently bought a 1985 740 GLE (my 91 Corolla was written off thanx to an incompetent driver with no insurance), so to make the best out of a bad situation I returned to the Brick fold. I figured if I was forced into buying a 'new' car earlier than planned I might as well get something worth keeping. I had a brief expirience with a 200 series about 5 years ago. It was a misused and dissapointing Canadian DL. Yikes never again! However I was not deterred from my goal of Volvo happiness, I have always loved the bricks and that brings me to my current 700 situation. So far (1 week) I LOVE IT!

Now, on to the question. I am a newbie in regards to Volvo repair (the DL's problems were well beyond my scope and time commitment)as well I am a novice in the mechanics dept, but I am determined to know this 740 inside and out. First problem I have is that even with a full resevoir the low washer fluid warning light stays on. Any words of wisdom?

Thanx in advance.
