firewall plug question 200 1983

hey Paul,

the hose is a yellowish hose that starts in the engine compartment and passes through the firewall on the passenger side, about 3 inches or so below the bottom of the glove box. it is on the right corner if you are facing the engine, seated in the passenger seat. it's a bit larger than a quarter inch in diameter - roughly half-way size between a cigarette and a cigar. i think it starts at the front of the engine compartment, but i am not positive about that location, especially since i am not at home and can't check it right now. if you are looking for it in the engine compartment: stand at the passenger side, next to the front wheel, look down (hood open) and you should see it beneath the cowl vent slightly to the right of the wiper motor, about 6 inches below the wiper motor.

on the passenger side, it runs under the carpets, at the furthest right point it can be without being on the sill. (basically at the point where the floor and the sill meet). on my wagon, it runs most of the length of the car and pokes out beneath the cargo area.... if i had a digital camera i'd photograph the whole set-up.

i think i will silicone the hell out of the plug and see what that does.

thanks!!

susan.
