Am in the middle of a little (long overdo) front end redo on a 740. Am using the "red" poly bushings ("cone bushings") from Groton where the diagonal strut rod joins the control arm. I've read in the FAQ that the poly bushings are "longer" than the origionals ( man where they trashed) and this is true. I'm lacking 1/8 to 3/16 " being able to get the bolt back in at the frame end. I'm not sure if it's the steel sleve insert or the bushings themselves that need to be slightly shorter. Any harm in sanding a little off the inner bushing faces and/or cutting a tiny bit off the steel insert until it fits? Thanks in advance!
