Shunting along the relay 200

My 245dl (b21f) finally fried the fuel pump relay. Smells burnt, dark brown resistor(?); shay-oobee...shattered... It was in bad shape due to leaky windshield and door seals. At one point there was actually standing water in the case. I cleaned it up, but never got around to resoldering it. The OD relay has worked over a year after resoldering it.
Now how to get it 6 miles home from the Dr's parking lot until a new one arrives from FCPGroton? I remember a few posts about shunting betwen terminals as a temporary fix. #30 to #87? Does this effect an overpressure circuit? Will I die a fiery death?
Bentley says 30-87 will fire up the pumps, but of course doesn't say you can drive that way. Cowards.
Mark.
