Car driving fine, suddenly stalls, I restart and its sluggish but works. Check Engine light on but codes wont show (dull light on diag comp). 200 1991

Hi all,

Car seemed fine but stalls intermittently (warm, cold, hot... no matter). After last stall (on a highway exit going 40) check engine light came on.

I came home and went to diagnose when I realize that as soon as I plug into any slot, the bulb lights up (very faintly) and will not respond when I press the button). Is this a computer problem?... i.e. the DREADED engine computer problem that seems to have plagued some Volvo's of the early 1990's?

Check engine light wont turn off... I can't manually turn it off but if I disconnect the battery, voila the diag at least flashes 1.1.1. (for no codes).

Trouble is, my car keeps stalling every once in a while (on startup, while driving... for no rhyme or reason).
