Can I replace an automatic transmission with a manual transmission? 200 1980

I have a 1980 245 wagon with the 3spd automatic transmission. I've already discovered it's possible to put in the 4spd automatic in my car using a shorter driveshaft and some exaust modifications. I wondered if anyone knew whether or not it was possible to add either an M46 manual or M47 manual to a car with an automatic. Would I have to make similar driveshaft modifications with these? Is it possible to mount a clutch and run linkage in a car without any previously? Any information would be helpful, thanks!
