Computer Picture question

Kenric Tam says he knows magic. I could use some, please! ;-)

And it's simple: can anyone recommend a digital camera (or other device!) that is equivalent to a Volvo?

It's like I am SO tired of buying a new PC every 3-4 years, for the past 20?, at $2500 a pop. I DON'T buy cars like that. My 1987 745 will last a long time (with no additional RAM, nor new storage device, nor bigger video card, etc.) -- knock on wood! The several high quality German and Japanese SLRs I have will last decades -- and you can take the new auto-focus feature, for instance, and shove it up a catalytic converter as a test device. (Whatever!)

So, no, I don't want to chase the latest and greatest, and the next latest and greatest after that. I want a digital Brownie equivalent. Is there such a thing? Thanks!
