e-brake handle removal 200 1981

I am trying to convert from black to tan for the e-brake console and the handle itself. The console is no problem, done. But what is necessary to remove only the handle for the e-brake, or does the whole assembly need to come out? Either way, when I go to the boneyard, I would like to know what tools I should have with me and an idea of how long it might take.

TIA,
Jeff
