Idle adjustment 700 1985

Hi all. I just bought an 85 740 GLE, so far so good after replacing the headlight relay yesterday (starting to lose some of the green on this new DIY'er). However I am noticing that sometimes under acceleration usually in the higher gears at low RPM there is a bit of a sputter kind of like it is stalling but dosn't last long. I am thinking air cleaner, plugs, dirty injectors? As well it seems like the idle is a little low as well. What is normal idle RPM for an 85 740 non-turbo? To admit my lack of knowledge, how would one go about adjusting the idle maybe that will clear up my problem? Thanx.
