ok im in a european car so to avoid misunderstandings the amp was up agains the outside wall of the right hand side footwell....

its a asmall black box and tucked up into the dash...bit of a pita to remove, you can tell its what it is from the round black din plug goint into it...

the amp is fed from a 15amp 12 volt live feed and is turned on by one of the wires in the din cable going live when the radio is turned on ..thius live wire is connected to the coil in the realy on the curcuit board of the amp that then fires the relay and turns the amp on...kinda crude anti-thump circuit...

but is suspect that your trouble is eith a blown fuse or a plug plugged in the wrong place on the head unit...

check the amp fuses...
