diesel/ kerosene compatability? 200

I see in my diesel volvo manual(1984) that is okay to add kerosene to the tank during winter..
my local gas station sells kerosene and diesel. (k=$2.11/gal: d=$1.67/gal, yea, its expensive, buy hey its NYC)

It is the first day of winter.

Are there any benefits to adding the K-juice to the tank?
Any deficits?

I see the kerosene has an octane rating of 60 compared to the deisel 40.
Is that a factor.

A few weeks ago I was on the interstate somewere in Pennsyvania, and filled up on something called "premium diesel"
It seemed to give my little oil burner quite a kick
What is this upgraded diesel?
Ever herd of it?

If their are no real risks involved in the alchemy then I will try the combo.

Any suggestions are helpful.

P.S. I love my diesel. When someone tailgates me, i just pop it out of overdrive, and they are lost in a cloud of smoke.......
