brakes and noises 700 1989

Hi, I just bought an 89 740 gl. There is some rattling noise. Seems to be coming from front, drivers side wheel. I pulled the wheel off to inspect. Everything looks fine. The brake caliper seems to have a little play in it. Is that normal. Also, when moving the car for the first time in morning, the brakes have a loud squeeling to them. It goes away after a few minutes or when I step on the brakes a few times. Also, is it normal to have Girling Calipers in front and ATE in rear. Thanks for any info.
