Upper control arm pin and bushes final thoughts. 444-544

Well I put the parts back on my car today and I hope they will last. Unfortunately I performed the bushing installation before Charles' first informative post. One bushing on each arm seems to have gone in crooked, meaning that end of the arm of the control arm was bent inwards about a millimeter due to the force of the bushes being pulled inwards by the threads on the pins. I carefully examined the pictures of the Volvo fixture and it does appear that part of it's purpose was to insure that the ends of the arm didn't get sucked in towards eachother.

Knowing what I know now, I would have devised some sort of spreader device out of some stock to keep the arms from pulling inwards. Hopefully the slightly bent arms won't adversly affect my suspension geometry and hopefully any amount of load caused by the bend won't wear out my pins and bushes prematurely.

Maybe I should take that bush out and spread my arms and reinsert it?? I might just do that. Any thoughts??
