Front Brake Pads 200 1981

I have an '81 with Girling calipers in front and solid rotors. I also have a new set of PBR pads and teflon shims I bought 2 years ago for our former '85 245 with vented rotors. Question is do these cars share the same size pads? They are the correct shape, but may be too thick, or have I just not pushed the pistons in far enough?

Also, is it terribly hard to rebuild these calipers as the rubber boots don't look too good, at least one doesn't.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh
