OverDrive installation this weekend... Do I need to do stuff? 120-130 1967

Unless you or anybody who has driven with that trans has NEVER missed a shift, AND always waited to put it in forward or reverse until all spinning of gears has stopped, there will be some metal that ends up in the fluid. That's why the magnets are there. So the particles do not get into someplace where they can cause damage.

You may find some fine powder on the filter unless it falls off as you take the filter out. Particles will caught by the OD pan magnet and screen.
