Regarding the headlight assemblies 200

I was able to recently acquire some parts for my 86 240 DL brick (c/o the autotech dept. @ school - they rock because it was all for free). Anyways, I was able to get my hands on both headlight and both taillight assemblies. In comparison to my headlight lens, the ones I were able to get were a lot less... faded yellow than the ones currently on my car. Since I plan on taking apart the headlight assemblies I acquired and re-gluing (can anyone perhaps recommend a good silcon or other type of adheasive to use in place of the factory glue?) them, I was wondering if I would be able to clean up the lens a little bit, and perhaps restore them to their originally intended clear/white state. As always, any help or insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
