Whoops sorry missed this. No there are 4 lobes as per usual. The point about it is that the 2 sets of points are offset to one another. Therefore one set of points effectively breaks the connection, the other makes it. I can't for the life of me remember whether it makes the dwell angle bigger or smaller. The real reason I use the Mallory is because it allows easy adjustment of full advance. With a hot cam a bit of extra advance at idle will make the engine idle smoother. If you do this with the Bosch dizzy you end up with dangerous levels of full advance.
