Tips on removing an AW70/71 200

I have got to get an AW70/71 (not sure which one) off. I have only ever dealt with gearboxes. Are there any major differences I should know about. Do I have to drain the thing first? Someone told me that the torque converter will dump out ATF when it comes off. Is this true? Does it come off with the tranny, or stay on the crank? How much does this thing weigh? or in other words any suggestions on getting it down without having it pin you under the car?
Sorry for the dumb questions, but I have never had an auto tranny before.
