OD, '80 240GL 200

G'day
The OD on my son's 1980 240GL has started kicking in and out, which feels much like a major misfire.
Recent work done that may have contributed to the problem was to replace the heater core (twice, each time removing all instruments),and bypassing the reverse light switch by mounting a dash switch.
It is entirely possible I have disrupted something electrical through pulling back carpeting, removing dash, and pulling up the shift boot.
The solenoid clicks in and out while parked in fourth. The OD light works as it should.
Where is the OD relay mounted behind the dash? There is an unidentified relay on the driver side dash support post, and two more behind the center of the switch panel. Any suggestions as to which one it muight be, or where my problem may lie?
Thanks
JD
