My First 1800 and rust revisited. 1800

Hello all!

I am new to the Brickboard- and I just bought my first 1800 in Denver! I can hardly contain my excitement. Soon I'm going to purchase a one-way ticket from my home in Richmond, VA and drive it back. It's an adventure I've been dreaming about.

The 1970 1800E has a few rust areas of course, including the jacking members, of which new ones were in the purchase. My first order of business is to get those put on the car, and get a new rocker skin and have that installed too. Hopefully these repairs wont break the bank, then hopefully I can afford to have it painted properly. I was reading the replies to the previous post, and someone was using some sort of natural oil on the undercarriage to protect against rust? How does this work? This car will be my daily driver, and I want to keep it from rusting the best I can.

Thanks everyone,

Steve in Richmond

P.S.- Anyone in here from Virginia?
