which engine? 700 1987

Stay with the Turbo 2.3. Yes they are about $500 more for a remanufactured and warrantied motor. I got a deal from my dealer for $2500 (motor only) List is(2995.00)for a new B230FT. I got 276,000 on my 87 and it's time. Piston slap is getting worse and oil use is increasing even though I fixed all the leaks. Yes it is expensive but it does come with a two year warranty. I got a price from Advance Auto parts for $2300.00 for one of their B230FT's with a 1 year warranty. So even with installation, odd ball additional parts and tax it will run 3500.00 and if you drive the car for another 35,000 miles (3 years) you are looking at 10 cents a mile or $23.00 a week for that new motor. And if you do sell the car before two years have passed you can ask a premium on the car because of the warranty still on the motor. The only question you have to ask is? IS YOUR car worth the investment. Don't spend the money if your car needs a lot of work. If the car is in pretty good condition then go for the new engine.
