Always Get Wrong Dist Rotor for '86? 200 1986

Several times now, I've had parts sellers give me the wrong distributor rotor for my 1986 240s. The part they give me fits a skinny shaft, smaller than my pinkie finger. But the part I need fits a fat shaft, large enough I can stick my index finger in it. Did Volvo change distributors mid-year in 1986? What should I be asking for? And what am I getting?

I've gone to several different places and also ordered online and I always end up having to return the part and tell them to give me one that fits a bigger shaft. I'm thinking perhaps I should lie and tell them I have either an '85 or an '87 if '86 was a transitional year for that part.

Of course, the silly thing is that since I don't buy distributor rotors too often, I always forget about the issue until AFTER I get the part home and I'm trying install it. Doh!
