where can i get a new nylon cable for my antenna 700

thought i would try to fix the antenna after years of it not retracting. the motor works, i hear it every time the radio is turned on. i opened the motor and found a broken piece of the plastic, toothed, cable (the thing that the gear pulls down to retract the antenna). when i tried to reattach what was left i realized that the cable is now too short...
can i buy the cable cheap somewhere or
is there a do it yourself fix that i can throw together?
