Fuel pump...any options?? 700 1987

Yes, you can use an aftermarket inline primary pump. You will have to fiddle around with the inlet and outlet and fuel lines to connect them, and fiddle around with the mounting bracket and possibly fiddle around with the terminal ends. If you like fiddling around with stuff, give it a try. MSD makes an inline pump that is not too expensive and I have seen one in some of the domestic magazines that is also not too expensive (about $115). Inline pumps are more expensive than intank pumps. Bosch makes excellent ones, and you have one. Get another and it should go another ten years. Buy something else and it may not.

You can convert to a primary intank pump. You have to do some fiddling around with the pump assembly, change the tank feed line to high pressure and do some fiddling around to bypass the inline pump. But primary in tank pumps are cheap. You can buy Walbro for $100. If you like fiddling with stuff, give it a try.
