Mobil 1 question 900

Right now I am using 10w-30 (as per manual) M1 but the engine seems noisy and is loosing a lot of oil (no leaks, no smoke, engine runs fine). Is it safe to switch to 15w-30 to see it this will help? The bottle says it is formulated for “high performance engines” whereas the 10w-30 says it is formulated for “higher mileage engines”.
