Idle problem- '85 Turbo. 200 1985

Hi everyone. I'm now having problems with my car idling. It will start fine cold but then it dies right away, if I start it a few more time it will usually at some point keep running and it'll run fine for a few minute or so then it dies and won't start again unless I give it some gas and then it won't run unless I keep my foot on the gas. I think it's an idle issue but I'm not sure. At one of the points where it was running I tried tapping the air flow meter (which I recently cleaned) and that made the car die. Any suggestions on what it may be, or if you think it is the idle being out of adjustment? TIA
