Engine mount questions 700 1985

I am thinking about changing my engine mounts on my b230ft. The FAQ has a recommendation about using hydraulic mounts. As best I can tell Volvo used that type in 1987 and later models. Since mine is a 1985 they used rubber mounts. Can I install hydraulic mounts in mine (retrofit). They cost a lot more, do they work that much better ?
