power mirror issues 200 1981

I am in the process of trying to put power mirrors on the brick, but have a few issues prior to install:

1) There is a fair amount of corrosion on the housing - I have stripped the paint, but is the factory finish flat black or satin black? Also, what type of socket is needed to remove the portion of the housing that mounts to the body? Bentley was silent on this.

2) In attempting to follow Bentley, I was unable to remove the glass from its frame. However, I did succeed in removing both frame and glass from the motor mounting plate. How should one put these back together? Also, can new rubber be sourced separately from other components?

3) When routing the harness, should it go to the center of the car and then back to the e-brake console?

Thanks,
Jeff
