Question about headlight assemblies... 200 1986

You'll probably need to clean off all the old glue down to bare plastic. Use clear silicone RTV to stick it back together. If the lens is yellowed, soak it with oven cleaner in the sink to take that off. Afterwards, wax or a plastic polish will help to restore the finish. The oven cleaner will not eat the plastic, but the yellowing is from pollution- it can etch the surface somewhat. Don't get oven cleaner on reflectors, paint, or you. SImple rinse with water gets rid of residue. The yellowing is only on the outside- anything inside is organic (algae?) from water collecting, regular dtergent and water gets rid of that. I wouldn't touch the reflectors except to maybe rinse them off.
