85 Turbo a dog on takeoff 200

Cousins:

I have just gone completely through an '85 240 Turbo - full tuneup, new injectors, seals, timing belt, air/fuel mixture, etc., and it now runs very well - starts right up in any temp., runs smooth at cruise, BUT, is very slow to take off - some of the time...

There is a whoosh sound from under the dash - like a vaccuum leak when I apply and let go of the brake pedal - could this be a leaky brake booster? and could it instigate the above condition?

Any thoughts?
