Correct ignition timing mark 200

Hi guys,

I'm trying to set the ignition timing on our '88 245. I believe its a B230F. On the timing scale I see something like:

|2|0 | |10

I'm assuming, if the first mark is 10 deg, and the third mak is 20 then the middle mark would be 15deg ? So for 12deg (spec) I should set it to somewhere between 10 and 15 ?

Also, to get a big more power can I set the timing to 15deg ? or is that too much and will make the car ping ?

Thanks.
