PCV - How does this thing work? 700 1978

Thanks D.P., Your info is good. Also I reveiwed the FAQs here and found a lot of good stuff on this topic.

I do have an oil separator, but it appears not to be a problem at this time as after replacing the flame trap (or flame shield as Volvo printed on my invoice). My problems have been solved. The shield didn't look completely clogged, but I guess it was clogged enough. A really good tip for removing the flame shield is to shoot a screw into it. I got that from the FAQs here. It was a bear removing it from the housing and the screw gave me something good to grip.
