760GLE runs sluggish, accelerate very slow. 700 1988

Appreciate help on this.

I bought this car 5 months back. It is 760 GLE 2.8 V6 FI with 236000 miles. It has been running very poorly since I bought it. I bought it cause I like it and thought I could fix it and enjoy for a year or two. The car starts fine, does not smoke or burn oil but accelerate very slowly and reaches max speed of 60MPH Only. Gas mealage very poor. I took the car to the dealer who change both fuel pumps, fuel and air filters but told me that it needs Air Flow Meter and they installed a used one for me free of charge !!hehh!! That is to get the car running until I buy a new one. I drove the car and I did not notice any improvement, still accelerates like a turtle.
Could it be something else other than Air Flow Meter, I hope? I don't want to spend $260 on a new one.
