'ER......' sound after Flame Trap Replacement. 700 1991

Hello everyone.

After Christmas, I replace the flame trap nipple and clean the oil seperator on my 1991 745 Turbo.

1. When I removed the flame trap nipple, I noticed that the small nipple was cloged up. I put in the new nipple and new "S" hose.

2. I used brake cleaner to clean the oil seperator. There was some gunk in it but not as much as I thought there would be. I made sure that seperator was free of gunk before putting it back in the car. I also replaced the bottom "O" ring for this item.

Since doing above 2 items, I started noticing a pronounce "ER>>>>>>>>>" sound once the engine was warmed up. (Say and keep saying "ER" and this is what the noise sound like.) This "ER>>>>>>>>>" continue for about three seconds after I shut off the engine. The "ER>>>>>>>" sounds/appears to be pressure related. If I start up the car when it is already warm, then I can here the "ER>>>>>>>>" sound right away, The sound is coming from the flame trap nipple area.

Any and all advice/sugesstion is welcome and appreciated. Have a Happy New Year. No leaks from oil seperator or any where else on the engine and no engine or driveability problems.

PS. How long do you guys keep saying "Happy New Year" after January 1? I have decided I will say it until January 14, 2003.
