Personally I don't remember seeing any cup holders on the 240 series in the area you describe. Chances are there are no people around the dealership that have a clue what was going on with the 240 series.... (grin).

If your console is like many of that era the top of the cover is simply broken off. The plastic gets brittle and breaks very easily. I hope I am wrong as I (as well as many others) would love to have cupholders in our 240's.
