Experiences w/rebuilt AMM? 200 1983

As much as I like FCP Groton, I can't recommend buying a rebuilt AMM from them (or anyone else). Never had good luck with one. Long term, a junkyard one will be more reliable. And you can probably buy 2 or three for even the price of a rebuilt. If you can't afford a new one, start callign the junkyards and check out some of the dealers on here that will sell used parts.

I don't know what it is about these parts- I mean, Bosch invented them so they ought to be the best source... but no one seems to be able to acheive a correct rebuild of one. And the early one, the 83-84 unit does seem to be more fragile than the 007 and other later units. Still there are lots of these cars hitting the junkyards... make some phone calls.
