740 radio 6-pin DIN 700 1989

The 6-pin plug should be for the extra amp; if you can get to the boneyard, just about any 6-pin Volvo amp cable from that era will do the job. You may find both single-amp connector cables and occasionally a Y-cable which would take two additional amps. The amps and cables are not much sought after, so you may get the amps thrown in for only a couple of bucks extra. Unless you are a purist, or a deaf teenybopper with a need for 1000-watt stereo, the amps are perfectly acceptable as long as you have decent speakers. You're looking at around 15-25 watts per channel, not the currently-fashionable 100+.
