240 GL Heating Problems 200 1987

I own a 240GL 1987 with 232,000 miles. I got the car a few months ago and have been working on it for a while and have finally got it into running order and am currently driving it. I live in Michigan and am 18, as you can immagine it gets quite cold here in the winter. When i turn my heat on i can feel the heat fine on settings 1,2,3 and 4, but when i turn the fan speed to 3 or 4 the heat still comes out but there is a LOUD rattiling noise. IM talking very loud. It sounds like the fan is loose but i am only and avg. mechanic when it comes to the engine and suspension i know nothing about the heating system. if anyone has a recomondatino on how to fix this i would be much apprecative.

Sincerly,

Marshall
(87' 240GL)
