Timing Belt Replacement Parts? 200

Reading the posts about timing belt replacement intervals got me going on replacing the belt on this 242 I recently bought. If the miles since the last belt are unknown, should I go by the feel of the tensioner and replace it only if it spins with roughness? What's the consensus on good brand names of belt and tensioner? Should these be official Volvo parts?

Also, can someone point me to a step-by-step procedure for this? It'll be the first one I've done. I have the Bentley manual, but it only covers 1983 forward. This car is a 1981. Maybe it has differences I should be aware of.
