Overdrive 200 1983

I've replaced the shift bulb...
I've replaced the relay...

Still my overdrive won't work. I got it to work for 2 days after replacing the relay a second time, then it went back to nothing.

How complex is it for a shop to troubleshoot stick shift wiring?

Could it be something stuck in the tranny itself? On the solenoid?
