Responding to a previous post (which is a fair way back now) Steve Ringlee asked about what Americans call "aftermarket" suppliers in the UK. The best known "non-Volvo" Volvo parts supplier is "German/Swedish/French" (used to be "Swedeutsch"). I always use them when possible but their range is a bit limited eg they don't have hall sensors or heater matrixes. There are, of course, other general "motor factors" for stuff like brake pads, hoses etc. but other Volvo specific items have to be purchased from a Volvo dealer. Trouble is they're mega-expensive and treat someone with a 13 year old 745 (me) like an embarrasment i.e. they only want to sell new Volvos or charge you megabucks to service your car (which I can understand, but its bloody irritating). In the UK there seems to be an attitude that anyone running an "old" car is poor (and I mean POOR) or eccentric. Mr.Gholmer will probably agree with me. However anyone living near Bristol may wish to tell me of a supplier I haven't discovered yet. Cheers as we say here!
