Engine misfire 200

Okay, here's the list of part troubleshooting:

Air Mass Meter exchanged
fuel relay exchanged
fuel regulator replaced
O2 sensor replaced
thermostat replaced
oil change

My 240 still sporadically sputters and locks in at 5MPH. A strange intermitent "pinging" (is that a word?) comes from the exhaust near the engine, even after it is parked. I'm not sure what else to fix. This 87 240 only has 100K and trying to keep it on the road. Any suggestions?
